Street Art Workshop Opportunity for Schools

Street Art Workshop Opportunity for Schools

Forest Recycling Project are searching for two schools within the borough of Tower Hamlets and one School within the borough of Hackney to take part in our free street art workshops.

As part of our Colour The Capital Project with Global Street Art we aim to carry out street art workshops across schools within Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest by the end of the year.

Three workshops have already been completed so far during the project including one at Rushcroft Foundation School, Walthamstow. Alison Stirling, Head of Art.“ The students had an amazing day and the school looks all the better for it. The response from the staff and students is great, the mural is FANTASTIC!”

So what’s involved?

The format of the workshops will depend on the facilities at each school. Here are the possibilities:

A professional mural artist comes to the school for a whole day. In the absence of having a school wall on which a mural can be painted, we will supply wooden boards on which the students can practice and learn.

All artists will be DBS-checked as standard practice. Paint will be provided for the workshops and the students will work with brushes (we will not be using spray paint).

If you are a primary/secondary school based in either Tower Hamlets or Hackney and would like to be involved in our street art workshops please email [email protected] or call 0208 539 9076.
