Intern opportunity: Social Enterprise Development Worker

Intern opportunity: Social Enterprise Development Worker

Six-month contract; 18 hours per week at London Living Wage (£9.15/hr)

Based Walthamstow

FRP is a growing social enterprise and charity. Our vision is of a world in which everyone is able to live sustainably, where people care about and want to make a positive difference to our environment. We host one of the largest surplus paint collection and reselling operations in the UK, along with micro-businesses involved in reclaimed paper and wood.

We are actively exploring the growth potential of each of these activities, as well as new ventures to expand our role and impact in promoting a sustainable world. We have a need for some additional help – partly to help us keep our current business ‘on the road’, and partly to help us think through and develop the growth potential.

The postholder will have a unique hands-on opportunity to learn about all aspects of running a social enterprise, and thereby gain a valuable grounding in the community sector. This could serve to supplement or complement experience gained in other fields, and/or provide a foundation to build upon through further employment or even entrepreneurship.

This role would suit someone with a real interest in social enterprise, with a flexible approach to work, and who would relish the chance to get stuck in at all levels in a growing business, potentially creating opportunities for themselves and others.

Job details are available here . To apply, please send an up-to-date CV to Fitzroy Andrew, Executive Director at [email protected] with a two-page covering letter which addresses our requirements for the role and stating why you’d be right for us. The deadline for applications is midday on Friday 17 July. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 28 July.
