Community RePaint East London Membership

content_bg

Community RePaint East London is a not-for-profit initiative whose aim is to reduce the amount of reusable paint that is disposed of in North and East London, and redistribute it to individuals and organisations in Waltham Forest and the surrounding boroughs. Reusable paint is available to all individuals and groups for a donation of £1 per litre.

We operate a membership scheme to enable community based organisations and individuals on low incomes to obtain reusable paint for a further reduced rate, or for free.  This allows us to sustain the project to continue to assist those in need of low cost paint.

Who Can Become a Member?

Community RePaint East London membership is available to not-for-profit organisations including:

City Farms, Gardening Groups, Conservation Groups, Faith Groups, Scout and Guide Groups, Community Centres, Artists and Art Groups, Amateur Theatre Groups, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Nurseries, Allotment Associations, Resident Associations, Community and Voluntary Groups, Environment Groups, Elderly Action Groups, Community Associations, Play Groups, Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Statutory Advice and Support Groups, Homeless and Housing Advice Groups, Wildlife Trusts, Refugee Groups...

If you are unsure if your organisation is eligible for membership, please ask us!  We are always happy to discuss ways to work with all types of organisations, including those not listed above. Please contact us on 0208539 9076 or email [email protected].

Individuals cannot apply for membership, but you may be eligible for further discount or free reusable paint if you are referred by one of our members.  Check below to see whether your housing association or local school is a member.

What are the Benefits of Joining?

Annual membership of Community RePaint East London can provide your organisation with significant financial savings on the cost of sourcing paint. Members can also refer individuals you work with such as tenants, service users or parents of pupils to receive free or heavily discounted reusable paint.

As well as saving money, reusing paint demonstrates your organisation's commitment to sustainability and has significant environmental benefits through the avoided disposal of paint and the associated carbon savings of reusing materials.

Your membership will also help to support Forest Recycling Project to continue to divert waste to reuse and recycling within the local community, and provide employment, volunteering and training opportunities in North and East London.

Housing Associations - Help your tenants to save money through providing referrals for free or heavily discounted reusable paint; and obtain free reusable paint for use in community art and environmental projects, and decoration of community centres.

Schools and Colleges - Obtain free reusable paint for use in art, community and environmental projects; Save money through obtaining reusable paint for decoration of school halls and facilities; and help parents of your pupils save money through providing further discounts on the cost of reusable paint.

Community and Voluntary Groups - Source low cost or free reusable paint for use in community art and environmental projects; and save money on the cost of reusable paint for decoration of community centres, halls and spaces.

Art groups - Save Money on the cost of paint for large art projects and painting studios.

How Does the Scheme Work?

Upon joining the scheme, your organisation will receive a referral form detailing your organisation’s  entitlement to free or discounted paint.  Depending on your membership, you may be able to refer Individuals.  They will need to bring a copy of a valid referral form with them to obtain free paint or discounts from the usual donation of £1 per litre.

Reusable paint is available from our Paint Shed at our Reuse Centre on Bakers Avenue in Walthamstow E17 9WA.  Our opening times are from  10am to 4pm Monday to Thursdays, and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.

All our paint has been sorted and mixed, and we stock a wide variety of types and colours to suit most needs.  In addition to reusable paint for interior walls and ceilings, we can also provide materials for exterior decorating, including a range of undercoats and floor paint.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer delivery of small quantities of paint.  However, we may be able to arrange for larger amounts - please contact us to discuss your needs on  020 8539 9076 or email [email protected].

How Much Does it Cost?

We have a number of membership options available to suit your organisation's requirements, entitling your organisation and referred individuals to free paint or further reductions on the normal charge of £1 per litre.  Click here to view our membership form.
