Give or Take Days

Give or Take Days are FRP's unique waste exchange events which have been running since 1999. We hold a Give or Take Day in Waltham Forest roughly once a month and are now assisting groups from other areas to run their own events. Give or Take Days have now taken part in the London Boroughs of Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich all with support from FRP.

What is a Give or Take day?

ALL FOR FREE !

The idea is so simple, we just hire a hall for the day, invite people to bring along unwanted items and then let everyone help themselves.

We'll take anything except adult clothing or hazardous/toxic items. If you have large or heavy items, or are without transport, give us a call to arrange collection. These collections are generally done the day before the event.

If you have transport or the items are easily carried, please bring them along on the day: e.g. books, toys, kitchenware, re-useable paint, bric-a-brac, plants, furniture and ornaments etc.

In the past we've given away everything from cots and pushchairs, tables, settees and three piece suites, lamps, microwaves, hi-fi's, tv's, carpets, cupboards...in fact everything including the kitchen sink!

Why do we do it?

It's good for the environment

By reusing things it reduces the amount of natural resources such as oil, minerals, water, wood that we use. It also reduces the amount of waste that has to be got rid of either to landfill sites or to an incinerator.

No one is made of money and everything seems so expensive these days. So this helps save a bit of money.
